Before you pay anything
- Visit the flat and meet the owner in person. DreamAcco verifies the poster's mobile number by OTP but doesn't inspect properties.
- Ask whether you are dealing with the owner or an agent, and check ownership documents or an electricity bill in the owner's name.
- Confirm the rent, deposit, maintenance, water supply and parking, and read the leave and licence agreement before signing.
- Ask the owner whether tenant police verification will be done.
- Never transfer a token amount before you have seen the place, and get a receipt for every payment.
